AUTOCAD CLASSES NYC - AutoCAD Essentials - Part I of AutoCAD Fundamentals.

REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE

This course delivers the first part of AutoCAD Fundamentals. It covers the first 50% of the AutoCAD tools that are required to work with the software.
You will learn the essential tools for drafting, modifying and annotating professional-level drawings for architecture, engineering, etc.

The essentials course is the recommended course for beginners, including hands-on, practical work during the training that helps students become proficient with the software. This course must be taken together with Intermediate, in order to learn the complete tools that are required to create high-quality drawings.

Course contents have been expertly streamlined and simplified, to deliver exactly what you need to quickly use AutoCAD. This approach minimizes live training time and speeds up your learning of the tools you actually need, greatly reducing the effort and learning curve typically required to learn AutoCAD.
This "best-practice" and "best-of-breed" approach allows us to give you the lowest available price in the industry, for certification-level, live training.

Extensive hands-on practice allows the student to become quickly proficient with the software. The official certification books and printed materials used during the training provide ample expert support, ensuring retention of the skills acquired during class, allowing students to refresh their training anytime they need or gain supplemental expertise that is not covered during the live training.

This official certification course is only offered at Autodesk Authorized Training Centers and universities in the U.S., ensuring that the student is learning the latest, most updated version of the Autodesk-authorized training in the U.S., published by a Platinum Autodesk partner and the only official Autodesk courseware publisher in the U.S.

PRO Trainers IT uses Autodesk Official Training Guides to help AutoCAD students prepare for the Autodesk AutoCAD Certification exams.

AutoCAD Essentials Class (Level I) 20 hours (complete) or 18 hrs (bootcamp)

The objective of AutoCAD®/AutoCAD LT® Essentials is to enable students to create a basic 2D drawing in the AutoCAD software. Even at this fundamental level, the AutoCAD software is one of the most sophisticated computer applications that you are likely to encounter.

In Level 1,  the teaching strategy is to start with the basic tools and key skills that enable the student to create and edit a simple drawing. Students will watch live demonstrations and then complete practical, hands-on exercises in their computer, that allow them to remember how to use the tools and the correct methods to ensure higher productivity.

The official courseware provides easy access to the training contents in printed format, providing key support that can be used to refresh the training or provide detailed guidance as you learn. More advanced tools are introduced throughout the training guide. Not every command or option is covered, because the intent is to show the most essential tools and concepts.

Topics Covered:

  • Understanding the AutoCAD workspace and user interface.
  • Using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools.
  • Organizing drawing objects on layers.
  • Inserting reusable symbols (blocks).
  • Preparing a layout to be plotted.
  • Adding text, hatching, and dimensions.
Prerequisites:
  • A working knowledge of basic design/drafting procedures and terminology.
  • A working knowledge of your operating system.
